Pantry & Closet Distribution Event

Sunday, December 6 | 11:30 AM–4:30 PM

Join Oak Grove Community Closet as we serve individuals and families through our Pantry & Closet Distribution Event!

These events take many helping hands. Volunteers assist with everything from preparing the space and welcoming guests to helping families shop, keeping clothing sections organized, and cleaning up when the event is over.

Whether you're a returning volunteer or serving with us for the first time, there's a place for you!

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

Welcome & Registration Table
Welcome guests, assist with check-in and registration, answer basic questions, and help direct guests to the appropriate area.

Setup & Cleanup Crew
Help prepare the event space before distribution, set up tables and supplies, and assist with cleanup and resetting the facility afterward.

Sorting & Organizing Crew
Keep clothing, shoes, and other available items organized throughout the event. Rehang, straighten, restock, and help maintain an easy-to-shop environment.

Section Leads & Co-Leads
Take responsibility for an assigned clothing or distribution section. Help keep the area organized, support volunteers working within the section, monitor inventory, and communicate needs to event leadership.

Buddy Shoppers
Work directly with guests as they move through the Closet. Help them locate appropriate sections and sizes, answer questions, and provide a welcoming and respectful shopping experience.

Line Monitors
Help maintain an orderly guest flow, provide directions and information, and communicate with the Welcome Team and other volunteers as guests move through the event.

Exit Table
Assist guests as they complete their visit, provide any necessary information or materials, and help with exit procedures.

Exit Assistance
Help guests safely carry their items from the distribution area and provide additional assistance as needed.

Important Volunteer Information

Volunteers should be prepared to work as part of a team, follow instructions from event leadership, and treat every guest with kindness, dignity, respect, and confidentiality.

Some positions may involve extended periods of standing or walking, lifting, carrying bags, or moving supplies. Volunteers should only perform tasks they can safely complete.

Community service hours can be documented.

All volunteers must complete Oak Grove Community Closet's required volunteer registration and agreement before serving.
