Who We Are
Oak Grove Community Closet is a nonprofit community outreach program dedicated to providing FREE clothing and shoes to families across King George, Westmoreland, Richmond, Essex, all located within the Northern Neck.
More than just a clothing giveaway, the Community Closet is a welcoming recycle, closet refresh and re-bless program that turns outgrown and gently used clothing into a cycle of giving that continues to bless local families at no cost.
Through the generosity of donations and the support of volunteers, churches, local businesses, and community partners, we connect givers and receivers in meaningful ways that reflect compassion, dignity, and care. Our volunteers are eager to welcome and serve each family and, when needed, help guide them through their visit so the experience feels supportive and encouraging.
As families receive support, many return to give back creating a growing cycle of generosity that strengthens our community and extends help to others. With God leading the way, Oak Grove Community Closet continues to expand its reach and impact as we serve families throughout our region.
What We Do
Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, churches, local businesses, and community partners, Oak Grove Community Closet hosts two large FREE community clothing giveaway events each year, along with several smaller events throughout the year.
At each event, individuals and families are invited to shop in a welcoming, boutique-style environment, allowing them to choose the clothing, shoes, and seasonal essentials that best meet their needs with dignity and respect.
Every event is made possible by dedicated volunteers who greet, encourage, and assist families as needed, creating a warm and supportive experience for everyone who attends.
Many of the families we serve later return as donors or volunteers themselves, creating a meaningful cycle of generosity that continues to strengthen our community.
