The Emergency Hope & Relief Program Assistant supports the Emergency Hope & Relief Program Lead by helping coordinate emergency clothing requests, preparing essential items, communicating with volunteers, and ensuring families receive assistance as quickly and compassionately as possible.

This ongoing volunteer role is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and has a heart for serving others behind the scenes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with reviewing and organizing emergency assistance requests.
  • Help prepare clothing, shoes, and essential items for approved emergency cases.
  • Communicate with volunteers to coordinate donation pickups, sorting, and distributions.
  • Contact families or referring agencies as directed by the Program Lead.
  • Maintain organized records while protecting confidential information.
  • Help monitor emergency inventory and notify the Program Lead when supplies are running low.
  • Assist with scheduling pickups, deliveries, or appointments for emergency assistance.
  • Support community outreach efforts by helping connect with churches, agencies, and other community partners.
  • Perform other administrative and program support tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and organized.
  • Comfortable using email, phone, and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and treat all individuals with dignity and respect.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must complete all required volunteer onboarding, including any required background screening.

Time Commitment:

  • Ongoing volunteer position
  • Flexible schedule with opportunities to assist remotely and on-site as emergency needs arise.
