Description

The Gloucester Daffodil Festival has been a cherished tradition for over 40 years! We are looking for a Junior Miss Mentor to provide support to the court of Junior Miss Daffodil Festival contestants through their interview process and mentor/assist the Junior Miss with quarterly volunteer opportunities. The Junior Miss Mentor works year round, averaging 2 hours per month. Junior Misses are age 11-15 (Middle School). The Junior Miss Mentor will work alongside the Queen and Little Miss Mentor and must act in good faith to steward leadership and service to the Junior Miss. Duties include: 

  • Share information on the Daffodil Festival Queen contest with local schools and clubs
  • Assist in identifying and facilitating quarterly volunteer opportunities for Jr. Miss (ex: reading at school, dog walking, distributing valentines, etc.)
  • Assist Jr. Miss applicants as they prepare for their interview at the Queen's Tea (March)
  • Assist Jr. Miss with promotional opportunities such as local parades and speaking engagements  
  • Provide brief remarks at the Crowning of the Queen ceremony at the Daffodil Festival (April)

This position will have support from a team of three staff members at Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism. We are flexible to take your creative ideas to make this program your own and help it grow! This volunteer role will have a commitment of at least one year.
