Location: Disaster response sites (local or nationwide)
Help families move from survival to stability. As a Shelter Resident Transition (SRT) Team Volunteer, you work directly with individuals and households staying in Red Cross shelters to help them overcome barriers and transition to more sustainable living solutions after a disaster.
This role focuses on recovery planning, empowerment, and connection—helping people take their next steps forward.
What You’ll Do:
- Work one‑on‑one with shelter residents to understand their resources and challenges
- Support households in creating individualized transition plans
- Provide coaching, advocacy, referrals, and recovery information
- Document progress and plans using Red Cross systems
- Collaborate closely with shelter staff and Disaster Health, Mental Health, and Spiritual Care teams
