Location: Disaster response sites (local or nationwide)
Support recovery by caring for the emotional and psychological well‑being of people impacted by disaster. As a Disaster Mental Health (DMH) Services Volunteer, you use your professional expertise to bring calm, compassion, and stability to individuals, families, and responders during some of their most challenging moments.
Who Can Serve:
This role is open to currently licensed or credentialed mental health professionals, including social workers, counselors, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, psychiatric nurses, school psychologists/counselors, and eligible retired professionals, in accordance with Red Cross requirements.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide disaster‑related mental health support to individuals and families
- Support Red Cross responders through workforce care and resilience strategies
- Participate in preparedness, response, and recovery efforts
- Complete client intakes, referrals, and documentation as required
- Collaborate with disaster response partners and specialized Red Cross teams
