Check Ins- The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office Dispatchers provide daily check-in calls. If they cannot reach a Keepsafe by phone, Law Enforcement is dispatched for a welfare check, providing assurance and peace of minds to the Keepsafes and their families.
Security - EMS getting to patients quickly is crucial and often delayed until Law Enforcement arrives to gain entry. By securely storing a house key in a lockbox, police, fire, and EMS can enter without causing damage to door or windows when time it critical and can make a life-saving difference.
Visitations - Occasional visits offer more than just social time, they help reduce feelings of isolation, brighten someone's day, and create meaningful connections. Whether sharing stories, playing a game, or simply sitting and talking, in-home visits help feeling valued and supported in the comfort of their own homes.
Technology Support - Phones and computers have become an essential part of our daily lives. From staying connected with family and friends to scheduling appointments, accessing healthcare, banking, shopping, and receiving emergency alerts, we rely on technology for countless everyday tasks. Technology is constantly changing and improving but keeping up with it can be confusing and frustrating. We have volunteers to help set up new phones, tablets, and computers and can explain, step by step, how to operate these devices.
Social Events - From attending summer concerts, to having social hour gatherings, game nights and holiday events, we are giving our, often isolated, Keepsafes the opportunity to stay engaged and connected with others.
Medical Transportation - We coordinate resources and work with local organizations to assist with medical transportation vouchers. Access to health care is essential, and reliable transportation can be the difference between managing a condition or letting it worsen.
Extreme Weather Preparedness - Ahead of extreme weather events we will check with our Keepsafes that they are prepared and have the essential supplies needed to make it safely through a storm. For those lacking necessities, we will deliver needed items, reinforcing our commitment to keeping them safe and supported.
Scam Prevention - A scam prevention class will be offered to help recognize and avoid common fraud tactics targeting older adults. The session will cover topics such as phone and emails scams, identity theft, and steps to take if someone suspects suspicious activity,
