Who We Are

The Lancaster County Virginia Education Foundation (LCVEF) was founded in 2006 and received it’s IRS 501(c)(3) approval on 18 March 2008. Our mission is “to enhance and advocate educational excellence and learning opportunities for students in Lancaster County by supporting student and institutional staff with private funding and resources.”

What We Do

LCVEF provides funding for programs that enhance the learning experience for students in Lancaster County Public Schools.

LCVEF initiatives have included helping our schools to establish an Early College Academy that enables LHS juniors and seniors to complete college-level, dual-enrollment courses and obtain their AA degrees while in high school. The largest number of participating students was in 2022 when 14 LHS seniors received their AA degrees.

Additionally, LCVEF has helped our schools by providing the following educational tools and programs for students: SMART Learning Tables, Digital Chrome Books, FIRST Challenge Robotics Robot Kits, Robotics Camp at NASA Wallops Island, Cyber Security Camp at Radford University, Teacher Certifications Initiatives, Annual 5th Grade Trip to Washington, DC, Project-Based Learning Initiatives, Annual Celebration of Excellence Dinner, COVID-19 Virtual Learning Initiative, Educational Field Trips, Mini-Grant Support for Teachers to Purchase Enhanced Classroom Learning Tools for their Students, and many other educational enhancement initiatives.
