Volunteer: Champion literacy in GloucesterIn 1914, Mrs. Elinor Cochran Stewart donated 125 books to form the core of a lending library at the Gloucester Woman's Club. With 112 years of growth, we now have two public library buildings filled with books, computers, digital collections and children's resources. It's a central hub for lifelong learning in our community. The Library Board of Trustees is looking for four more volunteers - representatives from the Ware District, Petsworth District, York District and one county-wide representative. These volunteers provide general supervision of the operation of the Gloucester County Public Library, and adopt policies as needed for the guidance of resources. Board members serve a four-year term. Call Gloucester County Administration (804-693-4042) for more information about applying to serve.
