Have you been searching for your purpose in the Northern Neck community? The Bay Center might be just the place for you!  Our mission is to support our community through offering programs that inspire spiritual growth, healing, & well-being.

We are committed to offering weekly in-person grief support groups, healing and meditation programs, self-care and aging workshops, sharing monthly meals together, remembering our loved ones with a summer walk and memorial at end of year, and much more planned for 2026 and beyond, but we need YOU!

If you are interested in rolling-up your sleeves, exploring the development of a program that addresses a community need, passionate about healing and well-being, or just want to give back to your community, give us a call at 804.436.6362.

Volunteer: Resources Researcher

The Bay Center has three effective support groups in its Grief Support Series. One is the ongoing "Grief Support Group" which meets weekly. The second occurs twice a year and is designed to address the needs of those who are preparing for the eventual loss of a loved one and is titled "Expected Loss." The third is "Loss from Suicide" for persons who have lost someone through suicide. It meets twice a year.

We need a volunteer who can research the available resources that may assist each group's participants deal with issues such as sudden illness, terminal diagnosis, elderly issues, sudden health decline, death, living alone suddenly, organizations to donate, services to help navigate bill paying, medical issues, etc.

The volunteer will then produce a resource list by January of 2027, and be willing to update it from time to time. It should include the services available, a brief description of what each provides, and the appropriate contact information.
