Volunteer: Sea Rescue Volunteer

Have completed a Safe Boating Course and have boating experience. Actively participate on the duty schedule: Serve on duty for one week at a time, every four or five weeks, spring, summer, andfall, on a rotation that fits your schedule.Stay within a 20-minute drive of your assigned rescue boat while on duty. Boats are located at Olverson's Marina in Lottsburg, Smith Point Marina, and at the Boathouse in Reedville. When on duty, if you must leave the immediate area or will be unavailable, alert your Duty Captain prior to your absence.Attend monthly meetings unless out of town or ill. Meetings are on the second Monday of the month at 1830. Complete annual onboard training as prescribed by the SPSR Training Plan.Complete CPR and First Aid Training provided by SPSR.Participate in group activities, such as the Oyster Roast, Christmas Party, Annual Picnic, highway cleanup.Participate when asked to represent the organization at community events SPSR chooses to support.Learn, grow, and become an active part of the Smith Point Sea Rescue planning and leadership team.Have a desire to support their local community......"there when needed."
