Volunteer: Readers Fun Fair Volunteers NeededNorthumberland Public Library is looking for volunteers to help with our Readers Fun Fair on Friday August 28th from 3:30-7 PM. This event is an annual event rewarding our summer readers who take the initiative to reach their summer reading goal of 400 minutes. Anyone can attend however and we need many hands to make it an amazing event for the community. The event will be held at the YMCA in Northumberland County. We need people to man the games, rides and other booths to include prizes and snow cones, popcorn, etc. Rain date is Saturday the 29th from 10-2. Please contact us if you are interested, even is you can only work a 1/2 shift the help is greatly appreciated. We also need a permanent volunteer on Monday's starting in August from 12-2. The volunteers will greet people when they come in, help patrons check in and out items and serve the public for that two hour time period. The Book shoppe accepts used books which are scanned and put out in the store to sell or boxed up and sent to Baltimore. Volunteers man the front desk, shelve books and greet customers. We would love to have you join us Wednesday through Friday 10-4 and Saturdays 10-2. Flexibility in scheduling is available.
