Urbanna Oyster Festival is one of the world’s oldest festivals dedicated to these prized shellfish and draws over 50,000 visitors from across Virginia and beyond. You can experience the festival in a whole new way by helping FOR recycle as much oyster shell from the event as possible!

There are a variety of shift times throughout Friday and Saturday so there is something for everyone.

DAY OF DETAILS
This will be a fairly passive volunteering event, where we are monitoring and checking in with our partners who are selling oysters. When bushel baskets are full, we load them into a cart and bring them to a trailer where we dump the shell, then bring the baskets back to the vendor. This allows time for you to enjoy the Festival, connect with partners, and FOR staff!
