The Tavern Woodworkers Guild is pleased to offer this introductory class in using a woodturning lathe.
For
those new to woodturning, students will learn the skills necessary to
safely use a wood lathe with spindle gouges and embellishing tools. The
focus will be safe lathe operation, tool selection/technique and skill
development.
Participants will turn a handle for
one or more of several kitchen tools such as an antique-style pepper
grinder, ice cream scoop, bottle opener or wine bottle stopper.
1. This is a one day class from 9 am to 4 pm with time allowed for lunch.

2. The maximum number of students is 7.
3. All tools and equipment will be provided for students’ use during this class.
3. There is an $110 class fee.
4. Depending on which item the student choses to make, there is a $5 to $25 material fee paid to the instructor.
