In this acrylic and oil painting class, students will be creating a
realistic looking Blue Heron, in profile. This beautiful profile of a
Blue Heron uses an acrylic underpainting with an oil overlay to
finish the look of this dreamy Heron. You will learn about the features
and special coloring of the great Blue Heron and their habits.
Demonstrations will be provided with lots of help to finish a beautiful
piece to take home. Information about the products and tools used and
why I choose them will be given along with demonstrations. The painting
surface will be a 10×10 prepped gallery canvas which will be ready to
hang.
Janet Hockman has taught many classes at the RHHT Heritage Arts Center, as well as in Kentucky, North Carolina, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri and Alabama. She believes that art should evoke a memory and help us express our feelings. Working in a variety of mediums helps her and her students do just that. Although she loves making her own art, her true passion has been teaching others to ‘tell their story’ while helping them find their own talent and abilities.
All supplies, including brushes, prepped 10×10 canvas, acrylic and oil paints and reference photos will be supplied.
