The 4-H program in Lancaster County has an upcoming youth financial literacy program where community volunteers are needed.
Reality Store is a hands-on educational simulation used to give teens a glimpse into financial decision making as an adult. After completing a career exploration unit with their guidance counselor, students selected a career that interests them. They will be provided a monthly salary that is equivalent to the monthly salary of their chosen career. They then visit 17 stations where they must make decisions regarding the money they will spend. These stations include child care, transportation, housing, and grocery. Volunteers man these stations.
