My name is Charle Blake. I became President of FOBI (Friends of Belle Isle) on January 1st. I am eager to meet with you and discuss the future of FOBI. My vision for this year is to broaden our horizons—weaving FOBI into a larger environmental coalition, inviting the energy of the younger generation, and ensuring our membership reflects the diversity of our community.
Together, I believe we can make The Friends of Belle Isle helpful to the park stewards, whom our taxes compensate, and more importantly, to maximize the park's value to all Virginians. I envision FOBI as a vital node in the movement to restore our earth to a true "Garden status" that supports the Web of Life that humanity is part of.
Special Requests:
1) We need your voice to make this vision a reality. If you have specific ideas for programs or initiatives that will help us bring out a younger, more diverse crowd, I make a strong plea for you to come and share them! If you are unable to make the meeting but still have thoughts to contribute, please share your ideas in advance by email.
2) Word of mouth is the best advertising! In the days before the meeting ask your friends if they are aware of Us friends, The Friends of Belle Isle State Park? Are they planning to attend the membership meeting on March 2nd? If they need a personal invitation, get me their email address. I will add them to our list, and email them promptly.
