Friends of Middlesex County Animal Shelter

Friends of Middlesex County Animal Shelter provides a support system for the improved care of homeless, neglected, and abused animals throughout Middlesex County, Virginia. We are supported through public donations and volunteers who donate time on behalf of Middlesex County Animal Shelter. We believe that every animal’s life has value and deserves respect and protection in a safe, caring, and healthy environment.

Animals in Middlesex County arrive at the shelter in need, sometimes, far beyond what the county budget can provide. We rely on donations, which help with food, toys, beds, blankets, and other basic necessities. Donations also cover lifesaving treatments like heartworm testing, spay/neuter surgeries, and care for painful conditions such as mange, infections, and malnutrition. And when emergencies strike, such as broken bones or urgent surgeries, donations make the difference between despair and a second chance.
