Who We Are

The Reedville Fishermen's Museum is located in the heart of Virginia's Northern Neck and is dedicated to preserving the rich maritime heritage of the Chesapeake Bay. We celebrate the legacy of the local watermen and the fishing industry that helped shape our coastal community. Our museum is a vibrant gathering place where history meets hands-on learning. Housed in beautifully restored historic buildings, we offer a glimpse into life on the water through engaging exhibits, oral histories, and local artifacts. With deep roots in the community, we're passionate about honoring the past while inspiring future generations to appreciate and protect our region's cultural and natural resources.

What We Do

Through interactive exhibits, historic boats, a working boat shop, and community events, we bring Reedville's unique history to life. From restoring antique vessels to welcoming school groups, every task supports our goal of preserving and sharing the maritime traditions of the Northern Neck. We also host seasonal events, lectures, and hands-on activities that connect visitors of all ages to the legacy of the Chesapeake Bay.

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you enjoy greeting visitors, supporting events, or sharing local history, there's a place for you here. No experience is needed-just a willingness to learn and a love for community. Whether you can give a few hours a week or help occasionally, we'd love to have you aboard.
