Who We Are
Friends of the Rappahannock (FOR) is a 501c3 grassroots nonprofit started by a group of environmentally conscious people in 1985. Our watershed protection organization is based in Fredericksburg, Virginia with satellite offices in Culpeper and Tappahannock, Virginia.
What We Do
Friends of the Rappahannock works to be the voice and active force for a healthy and scenic Rappahannock River. We accomplish this through three program pillars – advocacy, restoration, and education.
Our volunteers’ commitment to preserving and protecting the Rappahannock River and its surrounding ecosystems has made a profound impact on our watershed, from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay. Whether they joined us for a single day or have been a regular volunteer, their contributions are invaluable.
